Batman is a super hero movie which was based on comic character with the same name. Directed by Tim Burton, this movie features by Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Michael Gough, Kim Basinger and Robert Wuhl. The story is about the Gotham City which is in the clutches of Carl Grissom who is the chief of the mob. This movie centers on the conflict between the Napier, one of the Grissom’s men and Batman. Batman tries to stop Napier from poisoning the people of Gotham city. Napier’s poison leaves all its victims smirking terribly from ear to ear. A young lad Bruce Wayne witnesses that his parents were initially murdered by Napier the Joker, on the streets of Gotham City and so he becomes batman. He initially comes out in the darkness when the Joker appears; Batman appears as a horribly disfigured person and takes his revenge. In the conclusion part of the movie, commissioner Gorden unveils the Bat-Sign along with a message from Batman who promises to come back and defend the city whenever crime strikes again. Jack Nicholson for his excellent role of Napier the Joker was nominated for the Academy Award. Michael Keaton described the Batman character as most of the people considered Keaton as the best of the actors who portrayed the role in the movie. There was a huge amount of publicity done to promote this movie. Being the initial dark and serious edition of Batman to the big screen, this movie has been the sounding section for all the future continuations.
